ALONE AND TOGETHER
This is a project were third-grade students learned about music and musicality around the theme “Being Alone and Together”. They were inspired by several iconic percussion compositions and together they listened, interpreted, composed and performed through various workshops and activities. The project concluded with a musical performance for their families based on Morton Feldman’s “The King of Denmark”.
I facilitated an illustration workshop where children drew the instruments they played with during the project. They also drew the sounds the instruments made and these drawings were used as a base for the interactive illustrations on the “Alone and Together” project´s website I designed. In addition, I also created content like motion graphics and a film shown below.
It was a rewarding experience to create content for and with the kids, exploring what instruments and music is and experiencing the joy of creating both alone and together.
